Celebrity puppets are usually funnier than their real-life counterparts

Usually when big corporations try to roll out with a new ad campaign, funny comes across as corny and ingenuity looks contrived.

Sometimes, though, big corporations get it right.

Nike seems to have found the magic formula with this commercial:

Kobe + Lebron + Harassing Puppets = I'm buying my first pair of Nikes!

Shoe Head meet Coraline

Come January I am usually bundled up, inside, and sipping on hot toddies til the first sign of spring. I also end up anxiously awaiting for my next red envelope from netflix. I love movies like the next person but $10+ movie tickets and crowded megaplexes have kept me away from the silver screen. Next month, however, I will be splurging on myself and my man to watch Coraline, the stop-motion film adaption of Neil Gaiman's children's classic. Its scary in the kid with an imagination gone wild kind of way. The movie version is directed by Henry Selick the guy responsible for replacing my favorite holiday from Christmas to Halloween. (Actually Thanksgiving my favorite holiday but you get the point). It comes out February 6th.

You can watch the trailer here.

See it opening day, stay till the end of the credits and then go to www.coraline.com where you can win a pair of these:
.

Limited edition Coraline Nike Dunks only 100 pairs made.

Did I mention they glow in the dark?

Thanks Giant Robot!
